"To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering one must not love. But then one suffers from not loving. Therefore to love is to suffer, not to love is to suffer. To suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love. To be happy then is to suffer. But suffering makes one unhappy. Therefore, to be unhappy one must love, or love to suffer, or suffer from too much happiness. I hope you’re getting this down."

This is the “smoke ring” a strange phenomenon that happens in volcanos and it has only been documented 3 times. Two from Mt. Etna in 1970 and 2000, and another from Eyjafjallajokull in Iceland, in May 2010.

Why do we sound better in the shower?

thebakery-djcupcake:

The acoustics in your shower work as a low-tech sound mixer to modify your voice in at least three ways, all of which seem to improve its sound. The three sound effects are volume, reverb, and bass boost. The sound waves in your shower end up bouncing around so much it takes longer for them to reach your ear. The multiple reflections of sound have the added benefit of evening out variations of pitch which makes it sound like you’ve hit the note even if you’ve just wandered around it.
